Deevo didn’t come from guidance.
He came from noise.
He was one of twelve in a chaotic, cramped home where love was inconsistent and authority came with a clenched fist. His father was abusive, his mother, though tender in moments, didn’t have the power or perhaps the permission to love him fully and safety wasn’t a given it was a negotiation.
From a young age, Deevo learned to disappear, and to observe, to figure it out himself. There were no mentors, no family business to inherit, no roadmap for success, just a quiet, pulsing desire, get out, build your own life, do it better.
So that’s what he did, he left home and did what society promised would work, go to college, pick the major with the highest paycheck, and follow the rules all the way to a cushy executive role at a Fortune 50 bank in New York City.
From the outside, it looked ideal. internally, it felt like sleepwalking through someone else’s dream.
The turning point wasn’t a spotlight, it was a lens.
I didn’t step into this work through a stage. I stepped into it through a camera.
Early in my career, I was telling stories with a lens, capturing brands, people, and fleeting moments. But again and again, I found myself in the same place... standing behind the camera while someone in front of it unraveled, not because they didn’t know what to say, but because they didn’t know who they were.
That’s when I realized the real work wasn’t making people look good, it was helping them feel seen.
I started guiding people through brand messaging, but it quickly became deeper than copy or visuals. People didn’t need more polish, they needed a mirror, and when I hired my first coach, it clicked. The best leaders in my life were coaches, they held me accountable, challenged my thinking, and helped me grow, not just professionally, but personally.
That’s what I’ve become now... a coach, a mirror, a guide, not for the spotlight chasers, but for the soul-driven builders who know they’re meant for more, if only they could see themselves clearly.
